It’s Valentine’s Day once again, and if you’re not into flowers and love hearts you’re probably going to spend most of the day feeling pretty grossed out by everything going on around you.
So we’ve put together a list of some anti-Valentine’s songs to rock while you’re watching a couple shove their tongues down each other’s throats.
This isn’t just for the singles – everyone is entitled to hate Valentine’s Day together.
Single Ladies – Beyonce
Beyonce’s ode to being a strong single woman was an instant hit. Also a good workout tune, if you need an idea for tonight’s single activities. Just go to the gym and release some endorphins.
Since U Been Gone – Kelly Clarkson
Shake off that terrible ex and learn to breathe again. Thanks Kelly!
Somebody That I Used To Know – Gotye and Kimbra
How relevant. It’s about a break up, and it just won two Grammys. One for the ladies and the gents.
I Don’t Need A Man – The Pussycat Dolls
The Pussycat Dolls weren’t exactly the most progressive band (only one of them sang and they mainly danced in their underwear) but I Don’t Need A Man is a definite girl power tune.
Forget You – Cee Lo Green
Been lead on? FORGET YOU! Or F--- you. Whichever version you prefer.
We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together – Taylor Swift
Taylor Swift’s life is basically a soap opera that she has invited us all to be part of, but We Are Never is the perfect song to scream along to in the car. What a chorus!
Cry Me A River – Justin Timberlake
What do you do when you get dumped by Britney Spears? You write Cry Me A River.
Before He Cheats – Carrie Underwood
In this tune Carrie tells you exactly how to get revenge on your cheating ex.
Love Will Tear Us Apart – Joy Division
An absolute classic in the anti-Valentine’s Day department.
These Boots Are Made For Walking – Nancy Sinatra
One of these days these boots are gonna walk all over you- that’s right Nancy. Or Jessica Simpson, who had a hit with a cover of this song in the early 2000s.
Smile – Lily Allen
It’s good to smile when you see someone crying. It makes you feel better.
