James Franco Admits He Tried To Help Lindsay Lohan

Last year

James Franco has revealed that he has attempted to help Lindsay Lohan in the past – but even he seems to have given up on her!

The troubled starlet/former actress is wrapped up in a whole lot of new legal problems, that stem from a nightclub fight where she allegedly punched a woman.

Lindsay and James worked together on R.E.M’s music video for Blue in 2011, and the pair briefly grew close during that time.

He tells MTV.com, "Lindsay and I had reconnected at that time. I had been writing some poems about the Chateau Marmont (hotel in Los Angeles) and one or two of the poems involved Lindsay... I've known Lindsay for a while. It was at a moment where it seemed like she was doing OK. We'd have conversations on the phone, and she seemed like she was doing OK... I haven't talked to her in a long time because it seemed like she was getting into some more trouble. I've tried to help her."

However it sounds like James thinks Lindsay is stuck in an endless cycle of problems, due to all the media attention she gets during her issues!

He adds, "I think one of the reasons it's so hard is when she gets in trouble, she gets all this attention and I'm sure she gets book offers. Like she goes to jail, and instead of feeling like I really hit a low place, she'll get a crazy offer for her jail memoir."

Check out Lindsay's worst looks of 2012!

Maybe James should give Lindsay a role in his next crazy artistic project?  That might help solve her problems.
