The X Factor dream is over for teenage singer Shiane Hawke, after she was eliminated from the competition during last night’s show.

Shiane found herself up against boyband The Collective in the bottom two, and we honestly didn’t think that she had much of a chance. The judges are obsessed with The Collective, and definitely don’t want to let them go.

The Collective performed a showstopping version of Justin Bieber’s As Long As You Love Me, which absolutely showed how good these boys can be. In comparison, Shiane’s rendition of Wherever You Will Go was a little flat and uninspiring.

Of couse it all came down to the judges. And while some weeks it seems like the judges spend ages giving us their reasons for eliminating a contestant, this week they were quick. Possibly because we really needed Winners And Losers to get started so that the Oz Lotto results could get drawn.

Nat voted to send home The Collective, while Ronan, Guy and Mel all voted to send Shiane back to Darwin. Sadly, that meant it was time to say goodbye to Shiane.
