Tomorrow When The War Began Movie Sequel Still Happening

Listen up John Marsden fans -- a sequel to the Tomorrow When The War Began film might still be in the works!

The Daily Telegraph is reporting that the hunt for a director is on, after Stuart Beattie dropped out.
Executive producer Matthew Street said a "great screenplay" has already been written, and the film would happen.

"(The sequel) is certainly not dead," Street said.

The Daily Telegraph is also referring to the film as Tomorrow When The War Began 2, rather than The Dead Of The Night, which is the name of the second book.

It's not known whether the original cast, which included Caitlin Stacey, Lincoln Lewis and Phoebe Tonkin, will return.

Phoebe is currently in the US after scoring a role in The Vampire Diaries, and she seemed surprised about the news.

"I would have loved to have done a sequel but I don't think it's going to happen," she told the Daily Telegraph.

"A bit of time has passed now. I don't think there will be one, or at least not with the original cast - which probably is a shame. But that could always change, you never know."

Update 03/04/13: This story seems to be getting a huge amount of traffic. These quotes are very old!
