We were lucky enough to score an interview with Florence + The Machine in Australia this week, and Florence Welch had plenty of interesting things to tell us!

Florence + The Machine recorded an original track for the soundtrack of Snow White And The Huntsman, and Florence explained a bit of the backstory to the song.

"They asked us to do a track for it, and they kind of took us and showed us the film. Lyrically when I was writing it... I wasn't quite sure where it was going. And then it became apparent, kind of things happen in a strange way when I write songs, it became apparent that I was writing it from the perspective of the queen rather than from Snow White. And that kind of put a different spin on it I think," Florence said.

"Trust me to always go to the dark heart," she added.

Florence's visit to Australia coincided with another big name -- Nicki Minaj. And Florence revealed that not only did she check out Nicki's show, she was very impressed by Nicki's use of audience participation.

"It was so cool, she got people up on stage and she performed bits of her songs and some of them were really really good. And she gave the winner money!" Florence said. "We need to start giving away money."
