Oscars Best and Worst Dressed 2010!

09 March 2010

Who gives a damn about who wins an Oscar! It's all about the top frocks and shockers, right?!

No one remembers who won an Oscar in 1999, but everyone remembers that back-to-front suit Celine Dion wore on the red carpet! No one cares who won best picture in 2002, but everyone remembers Gwyneth Paltrow's see through shocker!

Aside from the fact that we're genuinely excited that Kathryn Bigelow rocked the Oscars with her incredible film 'The Hurt Locker', it really was all about the red carpet. Fortunately and unfortunately there were no real stand outs in the horrendous or stunning categories...but fear not, 'The Hot Hits Live From LA' fashion police were up for the challenge!

Let's start with the TOP FIVE frocks!

1. In terms of classic Hollywood style, Amanda Seyfried killed it with this Giorgio Armani Prive design. In a word, perfect. 10/10

2. Who would have thought!? Miley Cyrus isn't exactly renown for being a trend setter or nailing it on the red carpet...but she's come up trumps with this Jenny Packham number. Slick hair, hot make up and bangin' bling, respect. 9/10

3. This dress certainly divided The Hot Hits team, worn on anyone else it would have been a complete freakin' nightmare, but somehow Diane Kruger just manages to pull of the intriguing Chanel design. 8/10

4. This chick never puts a foot wrong, so it's no surprise that Rachel McAdams is a worthy member of our Top 5. This Elie Saab Haute Couture dress is a serious classic with a splash a watercolour cool. 8/10

5. Talk about good family genes! Maggie and Jake Gyllenhaal were a force to be reckoned with at the Oscars, Jake looking super dapper in a well fitted Burberry suit, and Maggie sticking it to the traditionalists in a brightly coloured Dries Van Noten gown. 8/10

Now for the WORST FIVE frocks...the fun part!

1. Charlize Theron...what were you thinking? The former Oscar winner who rarely puts a foot wrong, put her worst foot forward with this Vera Wang number. Seriously, WTF is with the rose features on her t**s?! Shame, shame, shame. 2/10

2. ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ After last year's top frock, Kate Winslet seriously lets the team down in this super boring YSL gown. Maybe it was an ode to the English weather, but the former Oscar winner should have known better. 2.5/10

3. Although Anna Kendrick tells us that this dress was a last minute choice due to a wardrobe malfunction, she should know that wearing a dress the same colour as your skin is a big no-no, unless you want to appear nude. Apologies to Elie Saab designs! 3/10

4. Yo J-Lo! We know you're down with your Latino figure, but no need to extenuate it to the extreme! You could fit 2 arses into that Armani Prive design! 3/10

5. We're not sure if Zoe Saldana was recreating part of the Avatar set, or whether she got lost on the way to the prom, but this Givenchy dress is wrongtown. 4/10
