Love rat John Mayer believes he should be embracing his playboy status and start having more sex, according to a recent interview with New York Times.

Over the past couple of years the singer-song writer has had a string of high profile relationships with the likes of Jennifer Aniston, Jessica Simpson and Jennifer Love Hewitt.

As a result, the 32 year old has copped a fair amount of flack for his serial dating ways and become a favourite of the paparazzi.

But Mayer is now determined to shed the love rat stigma, and embrace being a healthy viral man. "I should be having sex with more girls... It's crazy to me that in my head, that being 32 and dating women is going to get me in trouble."
