DJ AM's MTV Drug Documentary 'Gone Too Far' Premieres Tonight: Watch Preview

13 October 2009

A trailer for DJ AM's drug documentaru for MTV called 'Gone Too Far' will be screened tonight, and MTV have released a trailer for the show.

In it recovering addict AM, aka Adam Goldstein, "gave eight addicts the one chance they needed to change their lives."

The irony of it all of course is that Goldstein soon fell off the wagon and tragically died of an accidental drug overdose at the age of 36 in August after being sober for 11 years.

After being involved in a plane crash where he and Travis Barker of Blink 182 were the only survivors, AM supposedly began relying on prescription painkillers. Many say this is what lead to his return to drugs.

Goldstein had filmed 8 episodes of 'Gone Too Far' before he died on August 28.

Despite controversy, MTV has decided to continue with the airing of the documentary.

His family said in a statement on MTV.com:

"It is our hope through airing this show that people will get to see the side of Adam that we knew and loved. The decision to air the show has been difficult, but we do this with the profound belief that it will inspire others to seek help."

DJ AM made his name as a celebrity DJ around Hollywood, but also made a name for himself for being engaged to Nicole Richie and dating Mandy Moore.

Strangely, there is no explicit mention of his death in the trailer.
