What is it about the Irish accent that makes a person tremble and go weak at the knees?
Whatever it is, I can testify that at Melbourne's Forum Theatre last Friday night, there was a lot of trembling, and lot of knee weakening.

Irish rockers The Script were in town playing songs from debut self titled album, and as the tour was co-presented by us right here at The Hot Hits, naturally I had to go along and check it out.
Lead vocalist Danny O'Donoghue is a sexy man. Maybe it's the haircut?
The trademark leather jacket?
Or the fact he's 8 feet tall?
When he walked on stage with his band mates in tow, every crowd member's heart fluttered. The fluttering quickly turned into a mush, which then solidified into a firm helping of rock n roll goodness - mainly due to opener "Before The Worst".
I have to say my knowledge of Script album tracks was sadly lacking, but this band has hits - and that's what people want to see, and that's what The Script delivered. Next up... "We Cry" - My favourite Script song, as it happens...
By this stage people were in a daze. Every word that came out of Danny's mouth went down in spectacular fashion. None more so, however, than when they played "Breakeven". Pretty good song that you know?

I have to say I had my doubts about this show, but I was converted. The musicians are tight, the lead vocalist should probably be posing for Calvin Klein (and he could sing). Plus the crowd were in good spirits. That's always a plus... remind me to tell you about a show I saw once when the crowd was not so kind... but that's another tale for another day...
