Australia's very own Toni Collette has won an Emmy award for best comedy actress for her portrayal of a wife with multi personalities in the 'United States Of Tara'.
The actress wasn't favorourite for the award and beat out stiff competition from the likes of three-time Emmy winner Tina Fey.

Other nominees in the best comedy actress catergory were Christina Applegate, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Sarah Silverman and Mary-Louise Parker.
It's Collette's first nomination in a comedy category and the actress was genuinely shocked when announced as the winner.
"Wow this is insanely confronting," Collette said as she took the stage to receive the award.
"I'm so humble to be here in this room let alone up on this stage."
The 'United States Of Tara' was written by Oscar winner Diablo Cody and has been one of the highest rating comedies in the US this year.
