Craig David has spent some of his hard earned zillions on a swanky new pad in London for about 5 million dollars. The R&B singer has splashed out the incredible sum on the penthouse in a converted stately home in Hampstead. The flat has four bedrooms, a dining room, a drawing room, three roof terraces and a sprawling kitchen. It has a top-of-the-range sound system wired up to all rooms. Craig plans to convert one of the bedrooms into a gym.
It's a far cry from the tough Holyrood council estate in Southampton where the singer was brought up by his mum. A pal of Craig's blabbed by telling the London Sun, 'This is one of the most exclusive penthouse flats in the country. Craig visited the place and was blown away by the sheer majesty of it all. He's looking forward to standing on his balcony, looking out over the gardens.' The house was built by a Quaker banking family in the 17th century. Until now Craig has lived in hotels, reportedly spending half a million pound at the luxury Landmark in London last year. At 22 he is one of Britain's richest artists, Craig said recently: 'The money's been good and I am a multi-millionaire but without the massive ego to go with it.'
