Craig David was recently asked what sparked his interest in the Latino culture with his new single 'Spanish'. He responded, "I've got this real affiliation with Spain and Spanish music. I love the culture and the food and the country so that's really where it came from. The actual theme was more about taking opportunities when they come to you. Like talking to the girl who has pulled up at the same red light as you. You hesitate, and then you're about talk to her when the light changes and off she goes, and then you end up regretting it. So that's the basis of the song, and I wanted to have a tinge of that whole Spanish thing going on in the song and the video."
