Lady Gaga and Madonna shocked American TV viewers on Saturday night by staging a live cat fight!

Dressed in matching black leather catsuits, the pair performed a choreographed dance-off as part of a Saturday Night Live skit.

"Hey, guess what Madonna? I'm totally hotter than you," quipped Lady Gaga, who was the night's musical guest.

"What kind of name is Lady Gaga? It's sounds like baby food," snapped Madge.

The queen and princess of pop were at one stage separated by the host of a fictional MTV show called Deep Dish House. The pair eventually wrapped up the skit by moving in to kiss each other and then attacked SNL regular Kenan Thompson instead.

Lady Gaga later performed on the show, but we're wondering what the hell Madonna was doing? Other than to prove she can still wear a cat suit! It certainly reeked of a lame publicity stunt to us, a.k.a Madonna and Britney pash MTV awards 2003...but go check it out for yourself!
