Ashlee Simpson-Wentz Dropped From TV Show Melrose Place!

Seems like Pete Wentz will once again take over as his household's bread winner now that his wife, Ashlee Simpson-Wentz got dropped from the US TV series Melrose Place.

The singer/actress only signed on for the role of Violet Foster about a year ago, in the remake of the highly successful 1990's soap opera.

But unfortunately for Simpson-Wentz, her part has now been cut from the show, as well as other actor Colin Egglesfield, who places Auggie Kirkpatrick.

Executive producer of the show Todd Slavkin says, "We felt that once the murder mystery (involving their characters) was resolved, the tone of the show was going to shift ... and (Simpson-Wentz's) character would move on."

Apparently both Ashlee and Colin took the bad news "like professionals" because they were warned in advance they could be dropped from the show at any stage.

Slavkin reiterated , "They knew ahead of time (that leaving was a possibility); it wasn't a complete shock."

Mmm, so what's Ashlee going to do now...baby anyone?!
