It's her final stop on her world tour, and tonight Australia's greatest pop princess saluted her home town of Melbourne!
The Kyliex2008 production is vastly different from last time's Showgirl tour, just like the album - this time it's all about hi tech. Everything from the stage show, the costumes, the electronic beeps and squeaks, the screens, effects - all feel like something out of a sci-fi flick, but Kylie, being the ultimate performer, was more than comfortable in this setting.
The set list tonight was very heavy on new songs from her latest album 'X', and despite cracking performances of 'In My Arms', ' 2 Hearts', and 'Wow' - the crowd really only seemed to get mega excited by the hits. Lucky for us though, she delivered them thick and fast.
'In Your Eyes' and 'Spinning Around' sounded as good as ever, and when an enthusiastic punter in the crowd screamed for 'Locomotion', we were lucky enough to get an unplanned a capella version of her first single!
At one stage Kylie searched the crowd for interesting costumes, and even found a man wearing a full body suit version of those famous 'Spinning Around' hotpants'!
The new material sounded brilliant, but it was always going to be the classics that revved the crowd up. 'Better The Devil You Know' and 'I Should Be So Lucky' was the ultimate way to close a show, with some people even being brought to tears. Not me of course. I am far too strong for that.
The set ended with the mandatory confetti falling from the sky and a standing ovation. It was great to have her back!
