Daddy Duff Opens Up About Dad's Affair & Jail Time

Remember that song 'Stranger' from Hilary Duff's last album 'Dignity'? The big rumour was that it was about Nicole Richie and her whirlwind romance with Hilary's very recent boyfriend Joel Madden, but it was actually written about her Dad's affair that had a profound impact on her family.Bob Duff opened up to 'Inside Edition' recently and spoke about his affair on Hilary and Haylie's mum, plus his recent jailtime!
"I was unfaithful," says Bob. "I feel very badly about that and the effect it had on the girls," he adds.
Bob (does anyone else think it's weird Hilary Duff's Dad's name is Bob?!?!) also spent time in jail for contempt of court in the divorce with Hilary's mum recently.
"I have never been handcuffed before," he says.
He also said that part of raising the girls in showbiz contributed to the problems in his marriage.
"Susan was very consumed with the girls' careers," he says, admitting that he cheated on her. "We simply grew apart."
Whatever - excuses, excuses!!
