50 Cent to Retire?

Remember when 50 Cent said this:"If Kanye West sells more records than 50 Cent on September 11, I'll no longer [perform] music. I'll write music and work with my other artists, but I won't put out any more solo albums."
Bad luck Fiddy - the numbers are in and it looks like you're gonna have to hang up your bling coz Kanye has officially whooped your ass! America's Soundscan charts have come in and Kanye West absolutely creamed 50 Cent, selling 957,000 copies of his latest offering Graduation in the first week compared to 691,000 copies of 50's new album Curtis.
And in case 50 was gonna try and argue that it didn't bomb in all countries, the results were the same in the UK, Canada and Japan, with Kanye taking out the Number 1 position.
As for Australia, time will only tell, as Oz was an exception to what was happening in the rest of the world, in that the pair's albums came out in different weeks. 50 Cent's has taken out the Number 1 in the latest album charts but we'll just have to wait until next week when Kanye's album stats come in!

well i rekon thats a fair enough reason for him to retire he has all the new young artist to compete againat aswell as kanye West ! he has his money and it is his life what more can i say?

I never was much of a fan of his music anyway. I like Kanye better because he has made a point not to use unnecessary swearing in his music and he also isn't disrespectful to women like 50 cent is.

he really shouldn't have said that hey... well now it's backfired on him. Hopefully he has learnt his lesson never to say stupid stuff like that again. And i don't think he will retire, but i don't listen to much of his music anywayz so i don't care if he does.
